Used fro a friend with low BP and near fainting attacks
Used fro a friend with low BP and near fainting attacks. Not the most ideal thing for it, but it does give an indication of when he needs to rest. 97% and up is normal, anything below 90% is a concern and 80% means call for medicl help; this assumes the fingers are warm, clean and no green nail varnish, or any come to that, it defeats the twin IR beams. This unit as is, will not detect Carbon monoxide poising, showing a high sat, ie a false positive. Nor will it work with sickle cell anaemia, for that you need a three IR detector and better software. Senior Medical Technologist

Oximeter For Finger Reads Oxygen/Pulse and PI
I wanted one of these for a while more so to measure my father's oxygen levels. Being 76, Asthmatic with a COPD I was told I could get one of these Oximeters from the doctors for free, but that never materialised, and it was quicker ordering this and it being delivered, than trying to get a doctors appointment at all to be fair. So, testing it out was really interesting... First up,... the daughter's boyfriend... Good Oxygen level Heart rate? 91 ...A bit high for a 26 year old males resting heart rate, but that's my fault according to my daughter, as apparently I make him feel nervous? hmmm... ok. Daughter next. Good Oxygen level Heart rate - 76 clearly I don't make her nervous! Hubby next. Oxygen-95 (smoker) Heart rate - 60, definitely not 'nervous' of me either. I didn't initially know what the 'PI' was reading on the oximeter, it was pretty confusing in the instructions, so I researched it. 'PI' stands for Perfusion Index which is the measurement for blood flow to the finger. Too low could be due to many factors like low blood Pressure.

Very handy
This is very handy to add to my blood pressure monitor and thermometer monitoring at home. For anyone who needs to regularly monitor their blood oxygen and it comes with a lanyard so you can keep it on your person. It needs x2 AAA batteries (which are provided). The instructions are so tiny though. I really struggled to read them! You can set up alarms and thresholds, however I haven't done this. It fits comfortably on your finger, not too tight and takes just a few seconds for a reading. It appears to be fairly accurate too. At £14.99 it's a great device to have at home for a great price. I would recommend.

Useful medical tool
I compared the indications with the pulse oximeters from the family doctor and they show exactly the same numbers. What is difficult about such a device is its disinfection, especially when you buy it for work and several people use it. Its construction has several areas where it is difficult to reach for cleaning and it does not seem to be water resistant to be able to submerge it in oxygenated water. It is very easy to use just by pressing the start button and then placing your finger.

Uses 2x AAA batteries
Firstly please forgive my upside down video I was holing my head the other way round, A little disappointed its using 2x AAA batteries I'm literally running out of them, luckily it comes with a pair, but aside from that I have no way of comparing the values with an accurate device that can determine my pulse and oxygen meter to an accurate status, I can only hope it is and because I have no way of saying it isn't I'm going to give this a 4/5 had it been a rechargeable instead I would have prefered it. Some things are better with batteries like headphones or gaming controllers and tv remotes but I would prefer the small things like this to be rechargeable built in. Never the less I can adapt to batteries. It's probably a good product if it is accurate there is no real flaw and should deserve a 5/5 with a clear clean screen and it barely grabs your finger its quite comfortable.
